Fees

• These are based around an hourly rate, which may involve both face-to-face direct therapy provision, or non-face-to-face indirect provision of therapy support.

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

• Box Hill Speech Pathology is able to see NDIS clients who have self-managed or plan-managed funds.
• We are unable to see clients who have NDIA-managed funds. 

Medicare

Some people may be eligible for Medicare rebates for speech pathology assessment and/or therapy. Medicare pathways include:

• Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)/Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. This provides rebates for up to 5 speech pathology sessions per year. Requires a GP referral. Rebate: $61.80 per session (as of March 2026).  
• M10 pathway for complex neurodevelopmental conditions and eligible disabilities. From 1st March 2026, children and people under 25 may be eligible to access a rebate for up to 8 assessment sessions, and 20 therapy sessions, over their lifetime. Eligible difficulties include speech sound disorders, stuttering, cleft lip and/or palate, dysarthria, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Requires a GP or paediatrician referral. Rebate: $87.25 per session (as of March 2026).
•  Eligible participants can access both pathways (but not for the same session on the same day). 

Private Health Insurance

• Speech pathology is often covered by private health insurance providers under ‘extras’. Contact your provider for more information.
